When he was diagnosed with intractable lung cancer less than two months short of his 63rd birthday, Bill decided against treatment and instead arranged for hospice care at a wonderful facility located just 15 minutes from his son's home. What you see here are photographs taken on his last day - he died, surrounded by his family, about 14 hours after the last of these images were made.
